My fellow New Democrat,

I know it’s late. But I want you to be one of the first to hear the news.

The media have just called it a win. Fin Donnelly is your newest NDP MP.

Donnelly’s come out on top in a neck-and-neck race against Stephen Harper’s Conservatives. But it doesn’t stop there.

Mark Austin’s just recorded our best ever showing in his rural Nova Scotia riding. And we’ve seen strong finishes in Quebec – including in Montreal’s Hochelaga where Jean-Claude Rocheleau is poised to finish second.

The message from these by-elections is clear. Across the country, New Democrats are the alternative to Stephen Harper.

But we couldn’t have done it without you.

It’s because of the hard work and financial contributions of New Democrats like you that we have so much to celebrate today.
