My fellow New Democrat,

Last night, Parliament wrapped up the 2009 session.

And right up until the last minute, Jack Layton and your New Democrat team held Stephen Harper’s Conservatives to account on climate change, the economy and their mishandling of the war in Afghanistan.

Together, we’ve accomplished so much. And with your continued support, we’ll do even more in 2010.

In 2009, Jack Layton and the New Democrat team:

• Forced Conservatives to respond to economic crisis
• Secured $1 billion to extend EI for 190,000 out-of-work Canadians
• One step closer to adopting a world class climate change bill
• Passed laws to protect credit card holders
• Led the charge to have a public inquiry into the Afghan detainee issue

As the recent by-election results show, more and more Canadians are turning to the New Democrats as the alternative to Stephen Harper.

And this couldn’t have happened without the vital role supporters like you have played. Thank you.

Now I’m asking you to tell your friends how your support for the New Democrats has contributed to building a fairer, more caring Canada.
