Why doesn't harper feel the heat?

My Fellow New Democrat,

As the world comes together in Copenhagen to tackle climate change, do you get the sense that Harper isn’t serious about building the green economy that’ll get Canadians back to work?

Harper seems happy to let his Big Oil corporate friends have their way. Why isn’t he feeling the heat?

Maybe it’s because Ignatieff’s Liberals have embraced Harper’s Big Oil philosophy. Ignatieff has called Canada’s Tar-Sand industry a “World Leader”, and boasted that Canada provides “more oil to the United States than Saudi Arabia. That changes everything.”

Are we really going to get Canada on track with such an out-of-touch attitude?

It doesn’t have to be this way. But if you want Harper to start taking on the Big Polluters – it’s up to Jack Layton and your New Democrats. I want you to be a part of it by making a special online donation right now.

Jack Layton will be in Copenhagen this week to ensure Harper feels the heat. Jack will be there to tell the world that while Harper doesn’t want action on climate change, everyday Canadians are looking for leadership that’ll put their families ahead of the Big Polluters.

He’ll also share with other world leaders the best ideas on how Canada can build the green economy of tomorrow and put today’s families ahead of corporate polluters. Be sure to follow Jack on Twitter.

This is what leadership looks like. And this is the role our Prime Minister should be playing in Copenhagen.

With your donation right now, we’ll ensure that Harper feels the heat on climate change, in Copenhagen and right here in Canada.

Sincerely,

Brad Lavigne
National Director
Canada’s New Democrats
